Times When You Need To Have Your Vehicle Towed To The Tire Shop

If your tires are in seemingly good shape and they have just lost a good amount of their tread, then you might not have a problem driving your vehicle to the tire services shop. However, there are some instances when you should absolutely tow your vehicle to the tire shop instead of driving it there. This is for your safety, the safety of others on the road, and the safety of your vehicle as well. Here are some of the times in which you really need to call for a tow to the tire shop:

Your Tires Are Smooth

Take a close look at all of the tires on your vehicle. If any of them are smooth to the touch, meaning the tread is completely gone, you will not want to drive it to the repair shop. You need a new tire but not bad enough to risk driving a bald one. You will need to call for a tow truck so you do not risk the tire blowing out as you drive down the road.

You See Some Metal Sticking Out

It does not matter if it is one little metal spike or there are dozens of them. If you see any metal sticking out of the rubber, you need to call a tow truck. There is a good chance that the tire could pop on your way to the tire shop. You would not want that to happen and end up having to wait in a bad spot until a tow truck is able to get to you.

There's An Air Bubble

This is something that is usually seen on the side walls of the tires that break apart from the inside. If you happen to notice what appears to be a bubble on the outside of your tire, no matter how tiny it might look, you will want to stop driving it. Have it towed to the shop and have a new tire put on it.

With that information in mind, you should find that it is going to be a lot easier for you to determine whether you can drive your vehicle to the shop or if you really need for call for a tow truck. Remember, it might seem as though it is an inconvenience to call for a tow, but it would be a much bigger hassle if your tire blew out going down the road, you wrecked, and then you have to wait for a tow truck.
